In the opinion of Argentinian journalist Marcela Heredia, the best way to combat false news that they create against Venezuela is to verify the sources that prove the information and, above all, to evaluate the facts so as not to fall into inventions.
“When you are going to look at a news story, you need to verify the date, the context, until you see the link that is showing us the fact to see how credible it is. In addition, review the media where I came from and what its editorial line is. After verification, it is important not to circulate that information that, beyond being news, becomes gossip”, recommended the expert during her participation in the podcast Sin Truco Ni Maña.
In this regard, Herrera assured that verifying information is vital since, in his opinion, it is impossible to prevent false news from appearing.
“There is no way to prevent fake news from coming out because there is a malicious procedure in handling information. From the moment a U.S. official gets hooked on that, what you have to do is counteract it, disassemble it, show the seams,” he emphasized.
For her part, the deputy Tania Díaz, host of the aforementioned Podcast, stressed that it is people who give strength to fake news by giving it credibility, so she invited the Venezuelan people not to echo biased information against our country.
“When you spread or like fake news, you're doing the job. They deliberately promote yellowish information to awaken emotionality and have the immediate action to replicate it. By doing this you are doing the work for large corporations,” he said.
