Kerlys Montilla won gold in weightlifting at the Junior Pan American Games in Asunción

Venezuela's Kerlys Montilla from the 53-kilogram weightlifting division won the gold medal at the 2025 Junior Pan American Games in Asunción.
La Criolla played the national anthem at the Pan-American event with a start of 81 kg, 102 kg in the environment and a total of 183 kg.
With this first place, Montilla secured his place in the Adult Pan American Games to be held in Lima, Peru in 2027.
The American Jade Angeline Morales won the silver with a sum of 173 kilograms, while the bronze went to the Paraguayan Violeta Magali Fernández 172 kg.
