Kumarakapay indigenous community received registration and health day

Within the framework of the inclusion policies promoted by President Nicolás Maduro, the government of Guiana Esequiba carried out a successful day of identification and medical care in the indigenous community of Kumarakapay.
The activity, carried out at the communal house, benefited more than 350 people on its first day, marking a milestone in the recognition and dignification of indigenous communities in the region. Governor Neil Villamizar highlighted the importance of this initiative, stating that “this day dignifies the identity of indigenous communities, guaranteeing their recognition and access to fundamental rights.”
In addition, he thanked the staff of the Administrative Service for Identification, Migration and Aliens (SAIME) for their support in the logistics and execution of the operation, the mayor's office of the municipality of Gran Sabana and Captains of the indigenous communities, the government of Guayana Esequiba reported in a press release.
In parallel with the registration day, a comprehensive health day was held that included free access to medicines, treatments and screening for diseases such as malaria. Julio Matos, the only health authority in the region, highlighted the government's commitment to “reaching the most vulnerable communities, providing quality health care and promoting the well-being of all citizens.”
