As part of the beginning of Holy Week, at an event held at the Comprehensive Diagnostic Center (CDI) of Guaracarumbo, located in the Urimare parish, authorities of the state of La Guaira began the third day of distribution of medical supplies corresponding to the year 2026.
During the activity, more than 217,000 supplies were delivered to seven of the entity's main hospitals, while the comprehensive rehabilitation of the facilities of this CDI was announced.
The conference was led by Nelare Bermúdez, the state's sole health authority, and Pedro Rodríguez, Secretary of Social Protection of the Government, who explained that with this new endowment, more than 680,000 supplies have been distributed so far this year.
This action is part of the policies promoted by the President in charge of the Republic, Delcy Rodríguez and the Minister of Popular Power for Health, Nuramí Gutiérrez, with the support of Governor José Alejandro Terán.
During his speech, Bermúdez highlighted that this monthly delivery, promoted by the national and regional Executive, aims to meet the priority needs of hospitals, CDI and specialized centers, such as the Catia La Mar Popular Clinic.
“Today we are in this monthly distribution to serve seven institutions that make up the state's main hospital network, including CDI and specialized centers. We welcome this initiative by our authorities, which also includes improvements in infrastructure,” he said.
For his part, Pedro Rodríguez specified that Governor Terán's instructions include the structural recovery of the Guaracarumbo CDI.
“Today we began the rehabilitation of this CDI in the Urimare parish. In the coming days, we will be announcing, by the citizen governor, the date of delivery of these completely rehabilitated facilities, which will have improvements in air conditioning, painting, floors and provision of medical equipment,” he said.
