Lara champion of Athletics at the National Community Sports Games

Lara was proclaimed champion of the track and field athletics events of the III National Community Sports Games, after an outstanding performance closing with 6 gold, 2 silver and 3 bronze medals at the Metropolitan Stadium in Mérida.

The Larense delegation was accompanied by Zulia with 5-1-5 (11) and Nueva Esparta with 3-2-1 (6), according to the Ministry of Sports press.

The Yaracuyan Dalbany Mulet won the gold medal in the women's under-14 long jump event with a record of 5.20 m. The silver medal was won by the co-jedeña Marianyela Acosta with a jump of 5.02 meters, while the bronze went to Zuliana Breyenny Sierra with 4.88 meters.

In the men's group, the representative of Nueva Esparta, José Rojas, won the gold metal with a jump of 6.01, followed by Wilmer Pinto from Carabobo with a record of 5.82 m. The bronze metal ended up in the hands of Sebastián Andrade from Tachira with 5.79.

In the men's under-12 quadathlon, Thiago Peña from Larense won the gold medal on the last day, accumulating 1,305 points. The silver medal went to Aaron Pinto from Miranda with 1,231 points, and bronze went to Juan Álvarez Gil from Zulia with 1,211 points.

In the same way, the twilight player, Leandro Méndez, won the gold medal in the men's su-14 tetrathlon with a cumulative 1769 points. The silver medal went to José Guevara from Cojedeño (1,729) and the bronze medal went to Richard Urdaneta from Anzoatigua (1,651).

In the men's 4x60m under-14 relay, Posta Zuliana took the gold medal with a time of 29.11 seconds, followed closely by the Nueva Esparta team (29.16) and Lara completed the podium in third place (29.55).

In the women's 600 meters under-14, Guariqueña Paula Pérez won with a record of 1:40.83. Second place went to Emelyn Méndez from Larense (1:42.87) and bronze went to Fernanda Tejera from Aragüeña (1:43.66).

Finally, in the women's 600 meters under-12, Paola Moreno from Aragüeña took the gold with a time of 1:47.13, backed by Yarcrisnel Campos from Bolivia (1:52.06) and Isabella Morales from Zulia (1:52.11).
