Lara reinforces the safety of its road network with the channeling of four key bridges

With a view to mitigating the risks of the rainy season and ensuring free transit in the region, the Ministry of People's Power for Transport is implementing a preventive pipeline plan for four strategic bridges in the state of Lara. These hydraulic engineering maneuvers are designed to stabilize the bases of the structures and ensure the safe passage of private vehicles, public transport and heavy loads with food and supplies essential for productive development.

The largest technical deployment is concentrated in the Turbio riverbed, where crews operate simultaneously on three fronts of work. On this river axis, the Macuto bridge leads the tasks with 58% of physical execution, currently focused on the extraction of accumulated sediments to build a trunk in its central area.

A few kilometers away, the intervention on the Yacural bridge achieved 45.4% progress after registering progress in leveling land and strengthening slopes, while on the Las Damas bridge, work is proceeding with 22.5% through the deforestation of margins and topographic replanning.

Outside this river axis, the works on the Tononó bridge report the most consolidated development of the preventive plan with 70% physical execution. This structure has already successfully completed the removal of sediments and the profiling of slopes, and currently efforts are focused on the construction of a hydraulic trunk downstream on its left bank, a crucial work to deflect the impact of currents and prevent erosive wear on the structural supports of the road.

With these corrective and preventive maintenance actions, the transport office seeks to anticipate the increase in flows in the Larense entity. The goal is to transform local roads into stable routes that withstand winter weather conditions, safeguarding public infrastructure and offering complete peace of mind both to surrounding communities and to drivers who travel daily through these national connections.
