Last Thursday, February 22, the nineteenth edition of the

Gilberto Pinto Blanco; who was accompanied by the director of the
State Cabinet of Culture, Omaira Gutiérrez; the honored regional writer, César
Luis Franco Rivero and the national guest writers Benito Yrady and Gustavo Silva.
“The nineteenth edition of FILVEN
highlights the importance of literature as a means of expression and
knowledge, which allows us to know other realities and enrich our
own culture,” said Pinto.
He added that “the presence of nationally
renowned writers, such as the honoree César Franco and Benito Irady,
invites us to reflect on the importance of the written word in
building a more just and equitable society.” At the same time, he added that FILVEN
must become a space for encounter and exchange where the cultural diversity of Venezuela can be
learned, debated and celebrated.
