The mayor of the Libertador municipality, Carmen Meléndez, reported that 40 points were activated in Caracas during the National Enlistment Day, as part of a call to strengthen citizen co-responsibility in the defense of their territory.
In his speech, Meléndez specified that the points are distributed in 22 parishes in the capital, including places such as the Mountain Barracks, the General Command of the Militia, the headquarters of the National Guard in El Paraíso, as well as the Bolivar de Coche, El Valle and Madariaga squares. He specified that the call will continue throughout the day and will be extended the next day, inviting the population to join this process around the country.
He thanked the National Electoral Council (CNE) and its workers for joining this historic milestone in defense of the country's independence.
Meléndez emphasized that this initiative represents a show of unity in the face of imperialist aggression. He reiterated that citizen participation in the day is an exercise of sovereignty, in accordance with what is established by the Constitution. “We are all here, without distinction, reaffirming our commitment to Venezuela,” he said.
More than a thousand CNE workers participated in the day, together with representatives of public and private companies, who joined the activity in various parts of the capital.
