Despite operational advances, building inspections continue in the capital city, carried out by teams from the Mayor's Office of Caracas and under the strict supervision of the Presidential Commission for the Evaluation of Housing and Infrastructure Habitability.
This was reported by the mayor of Caracas, Carmen Meléndez, who explained that the brigades, led by engineering professionals, maintain direct attention to families to provide them with peace of mind through the technical evaluation of their homes. “We keep track and control of the status of each building,” he said.
Meléndez recalled that this procedure was ordered by President Delcy Rodríguez after the strong seismic activity of last June 24, applying the Traffic Light methodology to classify structures.
As a tangible result of this operation, the municipal president announced that the Residencias Alfa building, located in the San Bernardino parish, has already been certified with the green label. “This construction consists of 6 floors and 8 apartments. The green label means that access and habitability are completely safe, so neighbors are now calmer,” he said.
Finally, the mayor invited the population to continue to request the evaluation of their homes. “To request an inspection of your home, you can check the official account on social networks @comisiondehabitabilidad,” he concluded.
