Students from the Hugo Chávez Frías University of Health Sciences (UCS) (including community medicine, nursing and physical therapy) have joined the Comprehensive Care Brigades for Grandparents and Grandmothers of the Homeland. This national initiative organizes house-to-house health days to provide primary health care and social protection to older adults.

This was stated by the Minister of Popular Power for Health, Carlos Alvarado from La Pastora in Caracas, where he accompanied the president in charge Delcy Rodríguez, in the celebration of the Day of the Elderly.

“The president has asked us to incorporate not only our Doctors from Barrio Adentro, but also the students who give added value to the visits carried out by the brigades for the approach that those older adults registered in the Patria System under the condition of vulnerability, emphasized the health authority.
