Meléndez: Bolívar's legacy lives in the hearts of revolutionaries who love the Fatherland

As part of the commemorations of the 202nd anniversary of the Battle of Lake Maracaibo and the 242nd anniversary of the birth of the Liberator Simon Bolivar, the mayor of Caracas, Carmen Meléndez, affirmed that the spirit of the Father of the Fatherland endures in every communal council, every community, every woman, every man, every young person and every child in the country.

“Bolívar's legacy lives on in the hearts of revolutionaries who love the Fatherland. It represents history and the future; its spirit accompanies us in every commitment to social justice, the happiness of the people and the defense of our sovereignty,” said Meléndez.

During the commemoration, the mayor emphasized that being Chavista and Bolivarian means today having the courage and courage to build the libertarian project of the 21st century against all forms of foreign domination.

The mayor also congratulated the members of the Bolivarian National Navy in their day.

“That July 24, 1823, we honorably sealed our independence thanks to the courageous men and women who today have as heirs our glorious Bolivarian Navy. My tribute goes to the sailors and sailors who continue this historic mission with firmness and loyalty,” he added.

Meléndez also paid tribute to Ana María Campos, the hero of the independence movement who bravely resisted Spanish rule before the naval battle, highlighting her example as a symbol of fighting spirit and patriotic commitment
