Miguel Ángel Pérez Pirela assumes the coordination of the Intellectuals and Artists Network

The President of the Republic, Nicolás Maduro, announced that the Venezuelan philosopher Miguel Ángel Pérez Pirela will assume the International Coordination of the Network of Intellectuals and Artists in Defense of Humanity, an organization founded by commanders Fidel Castro and Hugo Chávez in 2005, as a platform for the cultural battle.

“After corresponding international consultations, we entrust to the Venezuelan philosopher Miguel Ángel Pérez Pirela, the International Coordination of the Network of Intellectuals and Artists in Defense of Humanity, an institution founded by our commanders Fidel Castro and Hugo Chávez in 2005, as a platform for the battle of culture and ideas against fascism, which was already showing its jaws, and in favor of a human humanity,” said the Head of State through his Telegram channel.

He also thanked “Sergio Arria Bohórque z, who hands over coordination to his countryman Pérez Pirela at a historic stage that requires renewed courage and creativity in the battle of ideas, critical thinking and global consciousness”.

He emphasized that today “peoples have intellectuals, artists, thinkers and cultural militants to defeat fascism, neofascism and other similar expressions of the archaic, supremacist and lackay extreme right. Peace, Sovereignty and Independence!”
