MINEC retains 45 specimens between wild and exotic fauna in Barinas

A total of 45 specimens, including wild and exotic fauna, were rescued by officials of the Ministry of Popular Power for Ecosocialism (MINEC) attached to the Barinas Territorial Ecosocialism Unit (UTEC) and the State Coordination of Environmental Day Care (CEGA) of the Bolivarian National Guard (GNB) , during an inspection operation carried out at the Refugio de Vida Tourism Center, located in the San Isidro sector of the Ciudad Bolivia parish, Pedraza municipality.
In the place were found 15 savanna morrocoys (Chelonoidis carbonarius), five red macaws (Ara macao), five peacocks (Pavo cristatus), four golden parrots (Amazona ochrocephala), six arrau turtles (Podocnemis expansa), two female peacocks (Pauxi pauxi), two chigüires (Hydrochoerus hydrochaeris), a male golden parakeet (Forpus passerinus), a mountain picure or lapa male (Cuniculus paca), a male bachier or wild boar (Sus scrofa/Tayassuidae), a male lapa (Agouti paca), an ostrich female (Struthio camelus) and a male rooster galapagos (Podocnemis vogli).
Officials applied the preventive detention measure to all registered individuals.
