MINEC seized more than 49,000 kilos of hazardous substances in Environmental Audits

A total of 49,560 kilos of hazardous substances (Urea) and 26,439 liters of toxic fluids such as oils and lubricants were retained during the National Environmental Control Days, coordinated by the Ministry of People's Power for Ecosocialism (MINEC).

On its website, this ministerial body specified that 683 officials belonging to different State institutions participated in the deployment through the Environmental Supervision and Control Circuits, which strengthens and reaffirms the institutional commitment to the protection of forest heritage, biological diversity and environmental quality.

He indicated that the operation also achieved the retention of 3,753 kilos of charcoal, eight African hedgehogs and 350 salted bovine hides.

In addition, 479 checks were carried out on mobilization guidelines, 479 technical reports were registered, six files notified to the Public Prosecutor's Office, six instructed administrative acts, 32 citizens cited and 4 arrested in direct response to an environmental complaint.

These permanent surveillance actions seek to guarantee environmental justice and safeguard Venezuelan ecosystems, as instructed by the President of the Republic, Nicolás Maduro, and which are added to compliance with the 7 Vertices of the Great Mother Earth Venezuela Mission, aimed at the transformation and ecological regeneration of the country, which guarantees the construction of a sustainable model, an example in the world.
