Minister Cabello: The United States takes 10 mercenaries and we rescued 252 young Venezuelans

The Minister of Popular Power for Internal Relations, Justice and Peace, Diosdado Cabello Rondón, reported that former Spanish President José Luis Rodríguez Zapatero was part of the actions to bring about exchange negotiations for the release of the 252 Venezuelans who were kidnapped in El Salvador.

“Former President Rodríguez Zapatero has been working, in contact and calling since day one and thanks to his efforts he succeeded (...) We gave them 10 terrorists (...) 10 mercenaries, they even took a murderer sentenced to 30 years in prison and took him to the United States because he is a gringo agent,” he said.

He explained that a former marine assassin was handed over to the United States who confessed to his crimes committed in Central America and Iraq, as well as “we handed over agents who were infiltrated in Venezuela.”

He dismissed that the decision to promote precautionary measures against a group of opposition politicians arrested for conspiracy activities is not part of the negotiation process carried out with the United States.

“That has nothing to do with this account. We Venezuelans don't negotiate them with the United States, that's a sovereign decision of the Government of Venezuela,” he emphasized.
