The Minister of Popular Power for
Tourism, Daniella Cabello, held a meeting with representatives of the Venezuelan
Superior Tourism Council (CONSETURISMO), to consolidate a
work agenda for comprehensive care for the national tourism sector.
During the meeting,
four strategic axes were evaluated: air connectivity, the formalization of temporary
accommodation, territorial governance and access to
funding mechanisms, according to a note from the Ministry for Tourism.
In this regard, Minister Cabello stressed
the importance of inter-institutional coordination and the construction of a
road map with concrete actions in the short and medium term.
In addition, the representatives of CONSETURISMO
and its members presented the follow-up to the joint initiatives that
are being developed, as well as new proposals to coordinate with the regional chambers of tourism.
In the same way, the meeting was conducive
to advancing the definition of lines of action that range
from improving hotel quality, with special attention to large hotels, to
updating regulations for service providers.
They highlighted the advances in the
sustained reactivation of domestic flights and the growing interest of
international airlines in operating in the country; as well as the development of the
creation of the “Tourism Management Supercommittee”, a space with extensive union
representation that will allow for agile monitoring of sectoral policies.
In the same way, they agreed to install
an intersectoral technical panel that will bring together software platforms for
accommodation, real estate cameras, the construction sector and
hotel chambers, in order to incorporate new technologies that meet the
requirements of modern travelers, without losing sight of the territorial roots and authenticity of our offer.
Finally, they called for unity and persevering work, between the public-private sector, which is the way to overcome challenges and build an increasingly competitive, inclusive and sustainable sector.
