Minister for Health: More than 7 thousand people with cataract problems have been treated

This Friday, April 10, the Minister of People's Power for Health, Nuramy Gutiérrez, reported that, within the framework of the Plan for Life and Health, a total of 7,600 people out of the 40,000 patients suffering from cataracts have already been treated, according to the 1x10 record of Good Governance.

Also, during the delivery of the CDI and SRI, Alberto Rudas Mezones in Pinto Salinas, Caracas, specified that these figures represent an increase of 19% of the care goal. At the same time, he stressed that people have been treated completely free of charge in the country's health centers.

He also noted the progress of agreements with private clinics, through agreements with public insurers, such as Miranda, La Previsora and Horizonte. “They already have 341 private service providers who came and who are going to help us care for patients who are waiting for surgical solutions,” he said.

For her part, the sector vice-president of Science, Ecosocialism and Health, Isabel Iturria, stressed that Vargas Hospital has treated one third of the patients who have required surgery free of charge, as part of the actions carried out by the Plan for Life and Health.

“This allows us to say that we have already reached 35% of the target set for this year, which means that, if we did 35% in the first quarter, we expect to exceed the goal, if we follow this pace at the end of the year,” he said.

In addition, he indicated that the Victorino Santaella Hospital is being incorporated into the plan, so that this center is the third to be incorporated for hemodynamic care and the 14th for the pacemaker area.

In the same way, the president of Social Security, Carlos Alvarado, emphasized that progressively hospitals attached to his institution that are in the process of recovery have been joining this plan to continue providing care for the people's health.
