Minister for Science and Technology assures that 62% of messages in social networks are violent

The sector vice-president of Science, Technology and Health, Gabriela Jiménez Ramírez, said in the program The Media Library, broadcast by Venezolana de Televisión, that 62% of the content on Social Networks contains messages of violence.
“The use of social networks to transmit messages of violence, at a time when they have no moral or ethical purpose, has led to the filling of networks with content that implies a message of violence that burdens individuals with subjectivity,” Jiménez stressed.
He also highlighted the importance of the “Dr. Humberto Fernández-Morán” University of Sciences, in providing high-quality education and preparing the next generation in the specialties necessary for the country's development.
He stressed that this house of studies will be dedicated to the development of new areas of technical-scientific knowledge, including: biotechnology, atomic energy and its peaceful use, oceanology, physics and computational biology, and molecular science.
In addition, he stated that the institution will offer 15 new careers and this year the academic building will be inaugurated, where registrations will be opened to promote the encounter between the knowledge of the people and technical development.
The minister reiterated the importance of technological and methodological transformation for urban development and habitability.
