The Minister of People's Power of the Penitentiary Service, Julio García Zerpa, highlighted this Wednesday the importance of the deployment for the review of preventive centers for deprivation of liberty to strengthen the Justice System in Venezuela.
“It's a really beautiful process (...) those of us who were called and who have been involved in this task, it's one of the acts from which the Revolution was born. Commander Hugo Chávez spoke about social justice, about equality, about justice being done regardless of their social position, their social condition,” said the minister during his participation in the deployment ceremony for the review of preventive centers for deprivation of liberty and the Grand National Consultation for Criminal Justice Reform.
He stressed that national policies prioritize the humanization, reflection and social reintegration of those deprived of their liberty, moving away from proposals that guarantee human rights.
“What we do is rediscover families, justice without impunity, because this is not that we go and open the doors of preventive centers and everyone comes out, no, whoever corresponds to them comes out, reviewing with all the actors and also respecting the decision of the judge who is the director of the process,” he explained.
