Minister Jhoanna Carrillo participates in a debate on the scope of the law on agro-urban matters

The Minister of the Popular Power of Urban Agriculture (MINPPAU), Jhoanna Carrillo, led a meeting with officials of this institution to deepen aspects of the Law for Innovation, Promotion and Development of Urban, Periurban, Family and Community Agriculture,
Carrillo stressed that each management team of the Ministry and its affiliated entities, as well as the social and communal organizations and the spokespersons of the Congress of the New Era, chapter of Peasants, Fisheries and Agrourban Producers; they provide ideas and suggestions to advance and improve the legal framework, will be a great benefit for the country's producers and producers,
He also explained the impact that agro-urban production has generated in the world. “It's also happening that a lot of people are making spaces their own and are producing, well, everything looks nice! , but moving to the city, a form of pesticides damages the soil”.
He stressed that what is produced with pesticides or chemicals cannot be financed by Urban Agriculture. “That should be framed in this law and producers should know that.”
Social Organizations
In other respects, Minister Jhoanna Carrillo explained that the consistent and firm participation of organized communities linked to production: communes, social organizations, peasant and agro-urban fronts or brigades, Conuquera women, among others, must be the guarantors that the Law for Innovation, Promotion and Development of Urban, Periurban, Family and Communal Agriculture is a reality to legitimate the defense of the country's Food Security and Sovereignty.
“Bring together all the actors that have to do with the productive area. We have the proposal here and this is the law that will guarantee the sovereignty and food security of the Venezuelan people and the ministry must accompany our producer organizations, to strengthen the law,” he said.
Finally, he stressed that this law is futuristic, allowing each producer, who has a space for planting, to be recognized with a form, a method and a legality that allows it to do so.
