The Minister of Popular Power for Youth, Sergio Lotartaro, highlighted the participation of young people in the popular consultation day held this Sunday, the 18th, at the national level, where communities will choose their projects aimed at meeting their needs and promoting local development.
After exercising their right to vote, Lotartaro noted that youth were deployed throughout the country, to accompany the day and promote participation in the communes.
“We have seen how a youth team has been deployed in all states, a united team, an integrated team, to bring the greatest possible participation to this consultation,” said the minister in statements broadcast by Venezolana de Televisión.
The minister indicated that young entrepreneurs, students and participants in cultural and sports activities joined the call to choose community initiatives.
He pointed out that each of the Popular Consultations that have taken place in the country has made it possible to develop spaces for participation for young people in the communes, where they are involved in proposals aimed at improving the conditions of their communities.
In this context, Lotartaro indicated that they are preparing for the next popular consultation aimed at youth, announced by the President of the Republic, Delcy Rodríguez.
“We are bringing all the teams together and we are doing everything possible so that when the opportunity comes and the date is given, we are prepared, as is always the youth, always ready,” he said.
For her part, the Secretary General of Youth of the United Socialist Party of Venezuela (JPSUV), Grecia Colmenares, invited young people over 15 to go to their electoral centers to choose between the projects proposed in each commune or communal circuit.
“It's a huge opportunity that we can't miss because it's for the well-being of our own community,” he said.
He described the consultation as a meeting space to discuss and prioritize the needs of each community. “We will continue to bet on the collective construction of the community's dream map,” he said.
