Minister Lotartaro: Today, youth activated a powerful tool given to them by President Maduro

The Minister of Popular Power for Youth, Sergio Lotartaro expressed his joy at being able to participate as a citizen in an election of mayor, councilors and also a first National Popular Consultation for projects aimed at young people from each and every one of the country's communal circuits.

“We are happy to be able to be in this election of mayors and municipal councils, as an opportunity given to us by President Nicolás Maduro, to choose youth projects, through the popular consultation of youth, which meant the end of a very long process that included 40,000 assemblies in Community Councils, let's see what those young people contributed to building that Dream Map and today we have some tools that President Nicolás Maduro has given us”, he highlighted during his attendance at his electoral center in the parish of Santa Rosalía in Caracas.

He also described this choice of projects as an historic day where prioritized projects are being chosen that respond to the real needs of communities as well as the consolidation of youth leadership in the transformation of the country.

He explained that youth, during this organizational process, have been building their Dream Map, a collective exercise where they consciously identify the real needs of their community. Through this participatory diagnosis, young people have prioritized concrete proposals such as the recovery of sports fields, the creation of cultural projects, the promotion of productive enterprises or the strengthening of educational initiatives, in order to reaffirm their commitment to local development and their transformative role within Popular Power.
