The Minister of People's Power for Industries and National Commerce, Luis Antonio Villegas, visited the facilities of a company in Nueva Esparta that sells chilli pepper products, to confirm the commitment to excellence and respect for agricultural identity.
During the tour, the head of Industries and National Commerce highlighted that this venture is a Venezuelan benchmark that has managed to transform the margarita product, with Protected Geographic Identification (PGI), into a world-class gourmet line.
“We are dealing with a sector that has made a titanic effort to strengthen the Island. The hands that have cared for and preserved the genetics of the Margarita chili seed protect a heritage of humanity,” said Minister Villegas during the meeting.
The deployment reaffirms the commitment of the Bolivarian Government to supporting initiatives that integrate the value chain, from the local producer to the final processed product. “Margarita chili pepper is not just an ingredient, it's an ambassador of identity and an economic engine for Nueva Esparta,” he said.
This venture processes chili pepper using advanced dehydration and cooking techniques, maintaining a catalog 100% based on this island fruit. Its innovations include: dehydrated line, sweet and spicy line and smoked salt concentrates for haute cuisine.
