Minister Ñáñez: 20th World Poetry Festival will pay tribute to Wafi Salih in 2026

The Vice President of Communication and Culture, Freddy Ñáñez, highlighted that the 20th World Poetry Festival, to be held in July 2026, will be honored by Wafi Salih, who is a writer born in Venezuela of Lebanese descent and who has dedicated herself to writing short stories, essays, dramaturgy and screenplays for films.
During the closing day of the 19th edition of the World Poetry Festival held at the Teresa Carreño Theater in Caracas, he extended his thanks on behalf of the President of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela, Nicolás Maduro, to all those who attended the World Poetry Festival.
In this edition of the Festival, national and international poets were deployed throughout the country, in order to carry out activities such as recitals, book presentations and annotated readings, academic discussions and forums, poetic training workshops, among others.
In addition, the event was attended by more than 40 poets from four continents: America, Africa, Asia and Europe, as well as nine poets from Palestine, and more than 150 national poets.
