Minister of Culture handed over General Order Francisco de Miranda to the families of filmmaker Donald Myerston

El Minister of Popular Power for Culture, Ernesto Villegas, presented the Order Generalissimo Francisco de Miranda, in his post-mortem class to the families of the filmmaker Donald Myerston.
Esta delivery recognizes the trajectory and contributions that Myerston gave to Venezuelan cinema, especially the one dedicated to girls and boys.
“We have come to give this Order to a great movie star, who dedicated his life to creating films for the little ones, for the most valuable thing in a society, which are girls and boys,” said the minister.
La orden honors “who in his lifetime was director, producer, cultural manager and fundamental figure in Venezuelan cinema, recognized for his work in the development of the national industry, militant of culture and pioneer of the cinematographic movements of the 60s and 70s. Today, the homeland of Liberator Simon Bolivar regrets his departure and praises his legacy for future generations.”
Asimismo, announced within the framework of the National Cinematography Plan 2026-2031, a special line of children's film production will be incorporated under the name of Donald Myerston “for collective construction starting on the 28th of this month as part of National Film Day”.
