Minister of Transport: Suspension of flights represents a security measure

The Minister for Transportation, Ramón Velásquez Araguayán, reported that the suspension of flights with Peru, Panama, the Dominican Republic and Chile is being maintained to prevent people with “some nefarious intentions” from entering the country.

The minister specified that the authorities carry out an “exhaustive check of all passengers entering Venezuela” and in the case of these countries it is “a mechanism for protecting the people”.

He also indicated that for now it is a “situation of extreme security” to maintain control of all passengers, both domestic and foreign, who enter the national territory.
