The water distribution system in the affected areas of the state of La Guaira is 90% operational, said the Minister for Water Care, Carlos Mast Yustiz.
During a visit to the area to verify the system's recovery progress, the minister specified that “operation exceeds 90% and the distribution in the different areas is improving every day”.
The authority, as reported by the Venezuelan News Agency (AVN), indicated that with these repairs they have increased attention to the sectors. “At this point, we have already recovered all the systems, but we have some faults left to attend to,” said the minister.
Mast Yustiz noted that some faults occurred after the earthquakes, which are causing pressurization problems in the pipes.
According to the head of Aguas, on June 24, the day of the double earthquake, six main systems came out of service, including two dams, a water treatment plant and everything that is the adduction from Puerto Cruz to the Mamo sector.
