The Minister of Popular Power for Productive Agriculture and Lands, Vladímir Padrino López, together with the governor of the Portuguese state, Primitivo Cedeño, led an assembly to promote the Winter 2026 Sowing Cycle with corn, rice and sugar cane producers, agro-industries and unions in the state.

At the meeting, strategic alliances were strengthened and all the current needs of the sector were heard first-hand, according to the Ministry of People's Power for Productive Agriculture and Lands.

From the Production Unit of Finca El Rosario, in the Araure municipality, the meeting was held in direct dialogue, where issues related to agricultural activity and the realities of the union were addressed.

Faced with the arrival of the rainy season, Padrino López highlighted the beginning of these cereal cultivation works.

In this direction, he said that Portuguesa is consolidating itself as the granary of Venezuela, being the current entity with the largest cereal plantation area in the country. “I wish all farmers a lot of success in the harvest, with all the effort they are doing,” he said.

Along the same lines, he highlighted the productive capacity of the Venezuelan people towards full agri-food sovereignty.

He also asserted the great potential of the Portuguese state, which demonstrates the resilience and heroism of rural workers, which, in his opinion, translate into national commitment. “I could feel the patriotism poured into working the land, which is where the nation's sovereignty begins; in production, supply and prosperity,” he said.

Padrino López forcefully stated at the end of the meeting that “what the people want is to work in peace”.

To conclude the day, the authorities reaffirmed their commitment to continue accompanying the agricultural bloc with policies that facilitate access to inputs and timely funding.
