Minister Padrino López: The working class demonstrated its desire for peace and commitment to the Fatherland

This Sunday, August 31, the sectoral vice-president for defense and sovereignty, Vladimir Padrino López, reaffirmed that the working class gave a great demonstration of its desire for peace and its commitment to the defense of the Homeland, during the military enlistment day on Friday and Saturday, convened by President Nicolás Maduro.

“We have seen a truly fervent display of popular power (...) The working class expressed this weekend its desire for peace and commitment to the defense of the Fatherland,” he said and described the day of enlistment as successful.

He also recognized the patriotic conscience of the people who went out to enlist during these two days. At the same time, he reaffirmed that in the face of imperialist aggressions, what Venezuela is doing is preparing to defend its territory.

In addition, he recalled that the siege that Venezuela has experienced “is a military strategy” that has the approval of the opposition sectors, who call for more sanctions and a commercial blockade.

“We are doing our part (...) during these days we saw on the one hand the indignation and repudiation of the rudeness of North American imperialism; and on the other the emotion of knowing that we are a militant for the truth of Venezuela,” he said.

He assured that after this registration, now what is coming is the assignment of missions, tasks and training for the defense of the national territory, which will be announced in due course.

“We are preparing to respond to any circumstance, any aggression of any intensity or nature that occurs by the United States against our sacred sovereignty,” he reaffirmed.
