The Minister of Popular Power for the Social Process of Labor, Eduardo Piñate, announced the formal beginning of the constituent process of the working class, with a schedule of sectoral meetings that will run until December.

During his speech in the Darío Vivas plenary hall in the Central Park, Piñate specified that between October 29 and November 21, the debate and the election of three main delegates will take place in each workplace. Later, from November 24 to 29, municipal meetings will be held by sector, in which only the elected spokespersons in each productive area will participate.

The minister specified that, from December 1 to 6, state sectoral meetings will be held, from which the spokespersons who will make up the National Constituent Assembly of the Working Class will come out. According to preliminary estimates, some 42,000 grassroots delegates are expected to be elected across the country.

Piñate stressed that this process aims to renew the Bolivarian Socialist Central of Workers, adapting it to changes in the world of work, including digitalization, artificial intelligence and technological transformations associated with the fourth industrial revolution.

He stressed that the labor movement is articulated with community militia units and fighting bodies in each workplace, as part of the country's comprehensive defense. “The working class is at the service of the Venezuelan people and President Nicolás Maduro to build and safeguard the sovereign homeland,” he said.
