Through the social network X, the Minister of Popular Power for Culture, Ernesto Villegas, lamented this Monday the physical departure of María Laprea, widow of the famous poet Aquiles Nazoa.

At 104 years of age, Mrs. María Laprea, widow of #AquilesNazoa, abandoned this plan,” said Villegas and extended her condolences to her children, nephews, other family members and friends.

He also published a beautiful poem that Achiles Nazoa wrote at the time to dedicate to his wife.

Here is the poem:

When I say the name of María, which for me is the voice of clear water, it is as if I were peeking out of the fields with the hand of a child between mine.

Because her name is a field in the distance with a master of fragrant rod and she wears in her hands and on her face the very soft smells of the day.

So it was love, quite simply, that his name inscribed on my forehead with five letters of melancholy. (so it was love, quite simply).

And it's not my voice but love that sings like a spike in my throat when I say Maria's name.
