The Minister of Education, Héctor Rodríguez, accompanied by the head of Science and Technology, Gabriela Jiménez, announced the delivery of 2,000 laboratory kits for schools across the country, in order to promote scientific study.
During a meeting with the Venezuelan Scientific Institute, in the Simon Bolivar room of the ministerial office, Rodríguez called on young people to be leaders of science and research. “The future of peoples necessarily involves scientific development,” he said.
Likewise, according to a press release, he asserted that it is essential to develop scientific sovereignty, “and that must happen at school.” For the minister, it is essential to do science and leave fear for so-called filter subjects: Mathematics, Chemistry and Physics.
He emphasized that the study of science also becomes part of the Plan of the 7 Transformations, which the National Assembly has approved as an Organic Law.
“Science is a fundamental space; the state has created the University of Science (...) Every scientific hotbed should know about this university,” he added.
For his part, Jiménez stressed that science must be a flag for all seedbeds. “Today, the work of science is a job for life, we see it on social networks, in artificial intelligence (...) We have a big challenge.”
He called for the advancement of the social right to science and invited scientific seedbeds to join the university study of science to offer the country the requirements that are generated in society.
