The Ministry of Popular Power for Education is currently focusing its institutional efforts on two fundamental objectives to serve the population after the recent earthquakes in the country: to provide socio-emotional support with special emphasis on children and adolescents who are in temporary camps and to ensure the continuity of the educational process for the coming school year.
This was reported by the Deputy Minister of Education, Alejandro López, during an interview with the program Los Mediodías on La Iguana TV. The official explained that, simultaneously with dealing with the contingency, the institution is in the closing phase of the current school year, evaluating academic consolidation in the territories and coordinating the holding of the degree events pending by the end of this month of July.
In this regard, López stressed that the educational office is actively participating together with the Social Vice Presidency in enabling and addressing temporary camps. These actions are carried out under the guidance of Minister Héctor Rodríguez, with the firm purpose of offering comprehensive support to affected communities and ensuring that students have the necessary conditions to continue their training.
With regard to the planning and the logistical steps to be followed in the affected areas, the deputy minister specified that the ministry is already coordinating the rezoning processes and the detailed evaluation of enrollments to enable the required quotas in other schools of the public network. He also confirmed in a timely manner that the start of the next school year is still scheduled for the month of September.
