The Ministry of Popular Power for Health (MINSALUD), working together with the government of the state of Zulia, activated the Intensive Care Units (ICU) and neonatal intensive care units of the General Hospital of Cabimas Dr. Adolfo D'Empaire.

The actions are part of the Cayapa Health Plan, an initiative aimed at strengthening health care services in the region.

After supervising the completion of the rehabilitation work, Governor Luis Caldera instructed the implementation of these units, essential for the care of critically ill patients, according to a press release from the Ministry of Health.

The ICU, which can accommodate eight patients, already received the installation of four ventilators last Tuesday, September 2. Its primary function is to provide specialized care and surveillance to adults with serious illnesses or injuries.

Caldera was accompanied by the Single Authority and Secretary of Health of Zulia, Noly Fernández; the president of FUNDASALUD, Luz Caldera; and the hospital's management, headed by Luisa Colina and Jacqueline Carrasco, as well as medical and nursing staff.
