Ministry of Health develops day for older adults in Barinas

The Great Mission Grandparents and Grandmothers of the Fatherland held a day of comprehensive care at the “Las Piupinas” Basic School, located in the Sabaneta parish of the Alberto Arvelo Torrealba municipality in the state of Barinas.

During the activity, framed by policies for the protection of the elderly, free access to specialized medical services, diagnostic tests and delivery of medications was guaranteed. The approach involved the participation of a multidisciplinary team from the Alberto Arvelo Torrealba Integral Community Health Area (ASIC), which achieved an impact of 845 total services in various clinical areas.

The grandparents received consultations in internal and general medicine, ophthalmology, nephrology and nutrition, in addition to having hypertension screening services and specialized studies such as ultrasound and electrocardiograms. The day included the delivery of more than 1,600 units of drugs through the pharmacy service, an action that guaranteed the immediate start of their treatments, said the Ministry of People's Power for Health (MPPS).
