The Secretary of Health of Guiana Esequiba, Julio César Matos, led the State Health Meeting that took place in El Dorado, Bolívar state, from which issues were prioritized for strengthening Care Routes in the Essequibo.

In a publication published by the Ministry of Popular Power for Health, in his account on the social network, he explains that the day brought together teams representing Self-Government Rooms, Community Circuits, Communes and communities, stressing the importance of coordination between the health sector and the community.

As part of a multidisciplinary approach, the Ministry of Health of Guiana Esequiba, HIDROBOLÍVAR, the municipal coordinator of Education, delegates from the University of Health Sciences (UCS) and coordinators of doctors and nurses participated in the meeting.

During the day, it was agreed to install permanent articulating tables, a mechanism designed to ensure continuous and effective collaboration between health providers and citizens.

Critical points were also addressed, such as access to medical services, with the planning of priority health days for the next month of August, and the development of programs and schedules of activities adapted to the specific needs of the community.

A fundamental aspect of the discussions was the assessment of Service Routes, considering logistical aspects such as safety on bridges and passes over rivers and streams, as well as river and air transport.

In addition, this detailed planning seeks to ensure a quick and effective response to any eventuality, ensuring the continuity of medical care in areas that are difficult to access.
