The Department of Health of the state of Barinas, through its permanent vaccination point, treated 25 people this Wednesday. During the day, doses of toxoid and yellow fever were administered to residents of the municipality of Barinas, in order to protect them against diseases such as tetanus, diphtheria and yellow fever.
Yellow fever vaccination is especially relevant for those traveling to risk areas and for residents of those areas. Once the dose has been applied, the international vaccination certificate is issued, an essential document for travelers, explained an information note from the Ministry of People's Power for Health.
For its part, the toxoid vaccine prevents serious diseases caused by bacterial toxins, such as tetanus and diphtheria.
This immunization point, which offers its services free of charge, is thanks to the commitment of the regional and national government to public health and the well-being of the population.
