This Wednesday, April 29, the president of the National Assembly (AN), Jorge Rodríguez, confirmed that we must move forward and stop looking for the differences that separate Venezuelans and promote everything that unites us.
“We must turn the page of hatred, of sterile violence, we must turn the page of polarization. We have experienced enough pain and been through enough difficulties,” he emphasized.
For this reason, he asserted that we cannot continue on the path of division.
He assured that peace is about a reciprocal agreement between the parties, “it is not an imposition of the powerful on another or subjugates the other with any feeling of peace or anything else.”
“Peace is above all a spiritual space, in which we have to search first within ourselves and then be able to overcome those things that separate us and distance us from the other,” he said.
In that sense, he explained that all those obstacles that separate one human being from another, “are nothing other than fear, ignorance, darkness”.
Rodríguez pointed out that “there is no disease more disastrous for the soul than the disease of racism, because it is darkness, especially fear and hate is a category of fear”, referring to the insults of the extremist right against the president in charge of the Republic, Delcy Rodríguez, at a recent public event in Madrid, Spain.
This was expressed in the state of Miranda, at the headquarters of the Santa María University (USM), on the Petare-Santa Lucía highway, where the Meeting with Social Movements was held, within the framework of the Great National Pilgrimage for a Venezuela without Sanctions and in Peace.
“I'm returning after 30 years to Santa María University,” he said.
