The Miranda state delegation won four gold medals in athletics and kickboxing on the second day of the East 2024 Paranational Games.
On the track of the Yulimar Rojas National Athletics Center, in Monagas state, the competition was held in which Omar Díaz and Enderson Santos won the events of the 100 meters flat, modalities T38 and T11. This was announced by the government of Miranda.
Meanwhile, Yomaira Cohen bathed in gold in the bullet impulse, T37 mode . Another Mirandino who climbed to the top of the podium was Alejandro Quevedo, who, in kickboxing, the Assisted Kick Light modality, beat the Yaracuy paraathlete in the final.
Meanwhile, Héctor Corridor won the silver medal for the Mirandina cause in the five thousand meters, T54 mode, as did Kelvin Montoya in the 100 meters flat, T12 mode. Another silver recognition was achieved by Alexander Orta, in karate do, kata modality, category K11/K12.
Finally, the bronze medals were won by
Jhonny Caraballo, also in karate do, kata modality. Likewise,
Brena Sosa, who managed to obtain two bronzes in the
kickboxing discipline, one in the K20 kicklight, and the other in the K20 in
Creative Forms, while Joangel Texeira won it in the F40 athletic bullet impulse.
In basketball, the
Mirandino quintet with intellectual disabilities outperformed Yaracuy's representation in the elimination phase
73 to 72, and Miranda defeated Aragua 68 to 54 in terms of
hearing impairment.
