The Miracle Mission began a new day of surgical care in the Portuguese state that will provide decisive treatment to 300 patients with cataracts.
The operations began this Sunday at the Los Baraure Comprehensive Diagnostic Center (CDI), in Araure, where 50 patients are being operated on this Monday.
Portuguesa's first fighter, María Gabriela Gil, reported that the Milagro Mission teams will be in the state for a week, guaranteeing free surgeries to “patients who have just been recruited, consulted and given their ophthalmological exams in the first week of March”.
He specified, according to a note from the Venezuelan News Agency (AVN), the Government's support for, through the One Surgery for All program, to ensure the logistics and success of surgical care, “with all preoperative exams and cardiological evaluation completely free of charge.”
Gil highlighted the joint work of the national and regional governments to respond to the surgical needs of patients with cataracts, a task that he said will not stop to “continue to bring light back to the life of the people.”
The day will take place until the 29th of this month and “immediately after Holy Week we will start strabismus surgeries for children and adolescents,” he announced.
