Monagas Governorate fumigates 996 schools for the control of dengue

This Wednesday, September 25, personnel from the government of Monagas carried out a special day of fumigation in schools in the state. In total, 10 institutions were assisted with the fumigation and disposal of hatcheries.

The objective of the day, called “Health Goes to School”, is to provide the attention of 996 educational institutions in the entity for the control of dengue, with regard to the start of the 2024-2025 school year, scheduled for September 30.

Edgar Bastardo, director of Environmental Health in Monagas state, indicated that this permanent plan is articulated together with the state government, Ministry of Education and Health, mayors and Health Committees. Bastardo called on communities to join this campaign for the elimination of Aedes aegypti in nursing homes, responsible for the transmission of different diseases, including dengue fever
