The Minister of the People's Power of Fisheries and Aquaculture, Juan Carlos Loyo, highlighted that more than 1,000 fishermen and women fishermen from the state of Falcón, together with security authorities, are deployed in Cabo de San Román in defense of the sovereignty of the Homeland

Through a telephone contact with Venezolana de Televisión (VTV), he highlighted that the fishing people today tell the world that Venezuela is in full exercise of its sovereignty.

He stressed that the seafarers are holding banners and posters to reaffirm that our country is a territory of peace.

In addition, he indicated that with this action they denounce “the interventionist and imperialist escalation that they want to apply against the entire Venezuelan people.”

“We are the first sentinels in the exercise of maritime sovereignty, we are alert, organized and articulated with the Bolivarian National Armed Forces for the activation of the Fishing Militia ,” he said.

Cabo San Román is located 112 kilometers (km) north of the city of Coro and, in terms of projection, 42 km from Aruba and the Aves Islands.
