More than 10,000 illegal miners have been evacuated by the Bolivarian National Armed Forces (FANB) from Caura National Park, La Paragua Forest Reserve and Icabarú Hydraulic Reserve in Bolívar state, reported the Strategic Operational Commander of the FANB, G/J Domingo Hernández Lárez.
The senior military officer explained that the eviction of these people dedicated to the depredation of the environment was carried out through a safe route, respecting, at all times, their human rights.
“National parks and monuments, forest reserves, biosphere reserves and hydraulic reserves, among others, are areas under the administration of special protection of the State that must be preserved and protected, and open pit mining is expressly prohibited,” Hernández Lárez said through his X account.
