A total of 205 entrepreneurs from various communal circuits in Caracas gathered in Plaza El Venezolano, where the Criolla Sweets Festival was held, an activity that marked the beginning of the religious and recreational agenda of Holy Week 2026 in the capital city.

During the day, the people of Caracas enjoyed a wide variety of typical desserts, from the classic rice pudding to innovative preserves prepared by productive youth. In addition, a competition was held to reward local talent in various categories, to highlight the gastronomic identity of the capital's parishes.

In this regard, the head of government of Caracas, Nahum Fernández, indicated that the activity is part of the agenda of 22 recreational and religious actions that take place in each community in the capital.

“From parrot festivals to the comprehensive recovery of our temples to the visit of the seven churches, we guarantee worthy spaces for spiritual encounter. We are with people in every viacrucis and cultural activity to strengthen our most sacred traditions,” he wrote on his account on the social network Instagram.

In addition, he said that the deployment of citizen security is still active with more than eight thousand officials and 1,300 motorcycles to protect citizens. “We oversee strategic points such as Waraira Repano and Hugo Chávez Park, ensuring that families enjoy aquatic distractions and local cuisine in total peace. Our commitment is to protect every space for the healthy recreation of all seasonal workers.”
