More than 400,000 children from Bolívar and Nueva Esparta returned to classrooms

More than 100,000 students began school activities corresponding to the academic period 2026-2027, this Monday, September 14, in the state of Nueva Esparta, said the governor of the entity, Marisel Velázquez.

The beginning of this new school year in the island state, as reported by the Venezuelan News Agency (AVN), was inaugurated by the governor and other authorities from the Francisco Antonio Riquez Bolivarian Educational Unit, located in the Arismendi municipality of La Asunción. This institution has an enrollment of 775 students.

For his part, the director of the Nueva Esparta Center for the Development of Educational Quality (CDCENE), pointed out that there are 375 active educational institutions in the state, while the entity is among the top five states in terms of school reorganization and on the issue of student rezoning.

In addition, as part of this beginning of the school year, the governor of the state of Bolívar, Yulisbeth García, also reported that more than 326 thousand children, from the 11 municipalities of the entity, are starting classes in 1,120 schools.

The information, according to AVN, was released from the Alida Belisario National Teacher Educational Complex, located in the Bolivarian municipality of Angostura, a school that today begins with an enrollment of 407 children, transportation equipment and uniforms.
