Under the motto "What you leave, stays. Take care of me”, more than 60 volunteers participated in a waste collection day in Cayo Herradura, La Tortuga Island, as part of the work promoted by the multidisciplinary team of the Special Economic Zone for sustainable, sustainable and regenerative development.

According to information from the Ministry for Tourism, the team made up of representatives of travel agencies, beverage and food brand companies, ministries and the coastal captaincy, was deployed during this cleaning day that included only the area of Cayo Herradura, where five tourist camps operate.

In addition, this project promotes an awareness campaign for the preservation and protection of this favorite destination.

In this regard, the owner of BarloTour, and promoter of this program, Manuel Sánchez, explained that this activity aims to bring together more actors related to the tourism and environmental sector. “We want to do these cleanings every three months. A proposed goal for this place to be maintained over time,” he said.

At the same time, he thanked the presence of those who contributed “a grain of sand”, and who contributed to the success of this first pilot plan.

In addition, they applauded this commitment to be transmitters and multipliers of these plans implemented by the National Government, which reinforces environmental care in the face of climate change in the world.
