The Ministry of Popular Power for Ecosocialism (MINEC), through the National Park Institute (INPARQUES), and the Venezuelan Society of Geologists confirmed that the rock mass of the Waraira Repano National Park did not suffer structural damage or collapses, following the recent seismic events recorded in the country.

INPARQUES deployed a multidisciplinary technical commission composed of engineers and the Civil Park Ranger Corps, which thoroughly evaluated the roads, and the conditions of the communities, confirming that the Cotiza-Galipán highway is completely clear, but access is restricted for reasons of public safety, in the face of continuous aftershocks, according to the MINEC press.

The authorities clarified that the landslides detected correspond to the surface detachment of the vegetation layer, a process considered normal in the face of earthquakes of this magnitude.

However, continuous evaluation is being maintained in the Manzanares sector to serve families whose homes suffered significant structural damage.

On the other hand, the inspection at the checkpoints revealed that the La Julia and Sabas Nieves 2 sectors have access obstructed by landslides and prominent cracks in the upper roads, which led to the order to close the Master Row and the high mountains.

In addition, the Estribo Duarte post has compromised roads on the route to Pico Naiguatá, so preventive restrictions are maintained in the area. For its part, Sabas Nieves 1 and the stretch from Chacaíto to Papelón remain stable, operational and under constant surveillance.
