At an event led by the Minister of Popular
Power for Culture, Ernesto Villegas, the Museum of Printing and Design Carlos Cruz-Diez
reopened its doors to delight the public with various exhibitions in
homage to the homonymous teacher and artistic expressions created by
people with Down syndrome and autism spectrum disorder, who demonstrated the absence of barriers in art.
During the reopening,
Villegas emphasized the importance of this space to pay homage to one of the greatest representatives of kinetic art.
The holder of the Culture
portfolio highlighted that the institution was once again available to the
inhabitants of Caracas and Venezuela, from Thursday to Sunday,
from 10:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
On the other hand,
he highlighted that the Bolivarian Government, together with the Ministry for Culture
and its affiliated institutions, continue to work to recover the 14 national museums.
“We can already say
that we have started a different dynamic of recovery, after the injuries
caused by the blockade and caused by the pandemic, because now we have a
culture that ceased to be 'caliche',” he said.
It is important to
note that this Tuesday the Museum celebrated its 27th anniversary of the valuation and
dissemination of Venezuelan design, as well as of the various printing techniques, which circumscribes
it in a specialized museum institution.
