Nahúm Fernández: Reopening of the Fire Station in Caracas favors more than 600,000 inhabitants

The reopening of Fire Station No. 9, “Mayor Mario Francisco Vega”, together with the provision of equipment and vehicles, favors more than 600,000 inhabitants of Catia in the Sucre parish, located in western Caracas, a work provided by the Government of the Capital District.

In this regard, the head of government, Nahúm Fernández, said that “it fills us with pride to announce the reopening of the headquarters of the Caracas Fire Department 'Mario Francisco Vega', a tribute to a true Tacoa hero.”

“This renovated space is designed to provide well-being and security to more than 600,000 inhabitants of the Sucre parish, complying with the guidelines of our president (E) of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela, Delcy Rodríguez,” he said.

On his account on the social network Instagram, he explained that to achieve this recovery, a working group was established that included the collaboration of the National Fire Department, the Fire Fund and the Security Cabinet.

“We are seeing results of perfect coordination between the national government and the state government. Comrade Diosdado Cabello has helped us to recover this headquarters, which is essential for rescue and emergency care,” he said.

This team specialized in risk care and fire suppression now has fully functional facilities: a dining room, a primary care area, an infirmary, bedrooms and bathrooms.

In addition, it has incorporated a multipurpose vehicle, to ensure operation in the area and a fully recovered ambulance, which “will be key to the operations of the 'Pueblo Caribe' Corridor. This ambulance will be based in the CDI of El Limón, also recovered in Revolución,” he added.

Fernández reported that, in addition, a Systematic Space Recovery Plan will be implemented at the headquarters of the San Bernardino Fire Department.

He thanked the joint work with Civil Protection to mitigate risks during the rainy season, while announcing the formation of Youth Brigades, which will include 200 volunteers committed to community safety.
