Venezuela is one of the 19 countries participating in the International Nanotechnology Olympiad, with six young talents from the National Scientific Seedbeds Program, who have consolidated their knowledge with the support of the National Government to advance their professional vocations.

According to a press release from the Ministry of Science and Technology (MINCYT), after participating in the tests, Samuel Galbán, 16, a native of the state of Zulia, celebrated the knowledge acquired during the training received prior to this international event.

For him, the most important thing about nanotechnology is “that it can help facilitate any type of process; it is applicable to many things, medicine, construction, product formation, almost anything nanotechnology can apply”.

Samuel is also one of the young people who will represent Venezuela at the World Robotics Olympiad to be held in Singapore in November of this year. Regarding the contributions of nanotechnology to robotics, he believes that it is beneficial to improve the structure or design of robots, plates and types of sensors.

“Being part of the Scientific Incubator is something that has brought me many benefits in my life. The participations I have had have left me a lot of knowledge and I am seeing how I can use it for my future,” he said.

Meanwhile, Luis Bermúdez, 16, from Caracas, commented that despite the complexity of the evaluation, he was satisfied with his performance.

“If there's no complexity, there's no entertainment,” he said.

He added that this scientific discipline is fundamental for the development of Electronics, a career he is currently studying.
